2013 son pitched his first inning yesterday during an intra squad game since January of 2011. 2K's Walk, Flyout on 21 pitches, 10 strikes 11 balls. He's still working on the control but his fastball was faster than any time before surgery and he still has more in the tank.

Now the issue seems to be with him getting comfortable with giving a max effort on each pitch, because he is still a little gun shy on reinjuring the arm.

Coming back from this injury is definitely a process and can be frustrating in it's length of time. Hopefully he will catch the eye this summer of a Juco, D2 or D3 so he can continue after his senior year.

My youngest, 2015 grad, had his MRI on Wednesday. The initial prognosis is a tear that will require surgery. The surgeon is getting a 2nd radiology opinion before we meet him on Friday. What was your experience with rehab & recovery?
I am really surprised by this diagnosis because he really didn't have much pain throwing, he complained of tightness. The pain was much worse last year when he had a growth plate separation. Can you outline you experience from diagnosis to rehab?

Thanks

Thanks

This is great information, But I need more information from how this may affect the future of a soon to be 16 year old HS sophmore. I'm sure the rehab will be the same and all that. But the long term prognosis.

And also, you mentione that you know imeadiatly when your injury occured. My son's injury seems less severe. He's been throwing with discomfort. We wend to the doctor as a precaution because of his growth plate injury last year. and the initial diagnosis is a tear. Do you or anyone else have information on the affect on younger players? ANd is this a injury that may not have consistent symptoms.

Thanks
