I've seen this topic in older threads, but thought I would try to get some fresh input.

My 2017 has an opportunity to attend the AZ Soph Fall Classic Oct 3-5.  Some here say you can't pass this opportunity up no matter what.  Others say it's the JR and SR events that get all of the scout attention, not the Soph event, so save your money.  Considering airfare, hotel, etc., this trip would be tough for us to afford, but I don't want to short change his chances of being seen.  The other thing is that I'm not sure he's ready.  He was in a tournament this past weekend and he had a pretty bad showing with multiple errors on defense and ineffective pitching.  Granted, he doesn't normally play that way, but seeing it made me think maybe we wait a year for something like the AZ Fall Classic.  Any input is much appreciated.

We attended the sophomore event two years ago. I don't think I saw a college scout. It was good to acclimate to the fields and was good competition. There were more scouts around at the junior event and my sense is that will continue. Maybe the sophomore event has grown too, or maybe your boy will be on a team with some studs to draw the colleges out. But that wasn't my experience.
