At the end of my sons junior year in baseball (last season) he was diagnosed with a medial tear in in UCL. He is 5 months into rehab and has progressed unusually well. We caught his injury early and after the surgery the surgeon was very excited. He informed me that both ends of my sons UCL were firmly attached to the bone and very healthy. He was able to clean up the UCL and suture back together. In addition he told me that the graft he took from his forearm was unusually large and strong and that the procedure took him longer than usual and he was able to loop the graft through twice. He is progressing very well with his rehab. He was throwing in the low 90's and running his fastball up to 94 on occassion. Has any one heard of a similair situation where the UCL is repaired plus getting a gaft? Based on what I have read this may be unusual. I can not find a similar situation and I'm wondering about the advantages he may have going forward.
