A car company can move its factories to Mexico and claim it's a free market.

A toy company can outsource to a Chinese subcontractor and claim it's a free market.

A major bank can incorporate in Bermuda to avoid taxes and claim it's a free market.

We can buy HP Printers made in Mexico.

We can buy shirts made in Bangladesh.

We can purchase almost anything we want from many different countries,

BUT heaven help the elderly who dare to buy their prescription drugs from a Canadian or Mexican pharmacy. That's called un-American! And you think the pharmaceutical companies don't have a powerful lobby? Think again!!!!

BigHit, I agree. Seems a shame the costs of drugs here. There is a medicine that I take and I found an online pharmacy out of New Zealand and the drug is less expensive than my copay for it with my insurance. It is made by the very same drug company, it's not out of date. Because of the cost savings, I turned my mom onto this place for some of her regular medicines - and she was reluctant.
Welcome to corporate America my friend.

As long as this government of ours permits politicians to solicit corporate campaign contributions, in the end, the only thing that really matters is the fiscal well-being of those large corporations. Once they are able to win your vote in the popularity contest they call an election, politicans become corporate puppets and you become a mere statistic. In addition to these puppets protecting corporate interest with the law-makers in Wash, these corporations also get to influence the public as they are the media in this country. Therefore, we shall see things as they want us to see them!
