what tools do you guys think are most important in a players success in advancing to the next level? What tools do you think are most important for winning? Whcih tools do scouts look at the most? Can some tools offset other ones, say a speedy outfielder that doesn't have arm-strength? I have heard a lot about arm-strength, and it seems that scouts value it. But is that just because there are not many players who have good arm-strength? If that is so, what tools do you think are at a minimum in today's ? And finally, are tools ove - , as Moneyball says?

Pitcher - Arm strength

Position player - The ability to hit the ball. You can be slow, have a average arm, make the occasional error, but if you can hit the ball, they will find a place for you.

I agree==if the boy can hit---the boy will be in the lineup somewhere especially with the DH being used

Agree completely with jaxnbulldog's observations. Would add that the pitcher needs to be able to hit spots and remain calm on the hill though.
