Top 16u performances so far

Mike Marshall put on a show this week at UTA. He hit a couple of balls this year that I know I couldn't replicate with my driver and a tee.

Matt Shelton has really been a great pitcher for the Heat as well. With his size and ability he is going to go far.

Best 16U team I have seen:
Kyle Chapman


Please note, KD, I haven't seen the Arlington Heat play.

Best hitter- Mike Marshall. He hit out at the Ft. Worth Cats stadium that cleared the clock over the scoreboard and it was still going.

Would include Cameron Rupp and Nick Fleece in this group of hitters. At the TCU Tournament Rupp won the Silver Slugger Award with 4 HR & 7 RBIs in two games. In games I've witnessed Fleece is raking, especially with runners on base; he and Rupp have about 16 HR between the two.

Who do Rupp & Fleece play for?

Rupp and Fleece play for Dbat, who played and tied Kyle Chapman at the TCU showcase.

From the games I saw, DBAT looked nearly as good as Kyle Chapman. Which you would expect seeing the results of their game. Solid club.

Mike Marshall may have 16 home runs by himself.

He had 2 380-foot flyouts against us -- I guess we didn't throw hard enough!

Yeah, two balls in most any other ballpark that would have been out. Tough night that night for Mike.

My boy has been plagued with that this season. A fair number of shots to the deep part of big fields, where the fielder's back was against the wall when he caught it. Most of the time into a breeze.

But does he hit those straight down the line? Or in the smaller HS fields? Noooo......

Oh well, surely the probabilities will even out at some point.

Great performances over the week end: Cole Green had 5 bombs in 3 games some measuring over 400ft.

Flower Mounds Nick Popescu coming within a single of hitting for the treasured cycle. Home run was a GRAND SLAM in a 10-2 victory over Dbat.
