Top players by team

What is your sons age group or grade? Are you speaking of high school or summer baseball? What district are you in?

SWAC, I think his son is going to Justin NW, so he'll be in 5-5A.

Best players off the top of my head in 5-5A:

Colleyville: Randall Thorpe - CF (JR.)

Southlake: Chase Reid - P/OF (SR)

Keller: Jared Stafford - P (SR)

Out of district, watch for Cole Green and Jonathan Kaskow from Coppell, Blake Beavins from Irving and Tant Sheppard from Flower Mound.

Cameron Rupp from Prestonwood is one of the best around, but you probably won't see him play as he goes to a Private School.

KD I believe Randall Thorpe is a SR this year, I work with his dad and I think im correct but I have been wrong before.

Nope, Randall is a Junior. He has always played up, but is in fact a young Junior.

It would be a mistake to overlook Dan Evatt of Grapevine (Baylor) in 5-5A, although I am sure that Dan would appreciate it if the Keller pitchers would. However, after the bombs that Stafford saw him hit last summer, there is little chance of Evatt getting a pitch.

I didn't overlook him, just forgot his name and didn't want to look like an idiot and say "some kid from Grapevine." When I was younger I could easily remember names, as I get older, it's getting harder and harder.

Saw him play this fall, good player indeed.

Who are some of the 4a top players in the area? I was in 5a last year and it seemed like every team had atleast 2 or 3 above average players...not to sure how it will be in 4a. Is there really a difference?

OPson the quality of players is usually the same, it is the depth of the quality players that drops off. Not to sure about the Dallas area 4a teams. (are the 3 Mckinney schools 4a now???) Fort worth 4a teams to watch are Arlington Heights, Aledo has had some strong move-ins and is my pick for the area, Boswell moved down from 5a and is loaded with seniors, Fossil ridge moved down also and will be strong.

Need to add Corey Rucci from Southlake -CF. Kid can flat out play.

There is a kid I thinkgoes to Martin last name Osman kid can play

All 3 McKinney teams are in district 9-4A. Should be a fun spring in McKinney for sure!

Maybe North and McKinney...not to sure about Boyd maybe in a couple of years.

Watch out for two freshman at McKinney. They should be on varsity this year.

gjbk1- If the kid your talking about is named Osman, and his first name Zach, then he goes to Arlington. He went there as a soph. then transfered to Pantego, then back to Arlington. He and Ritter will be the bulk of that team. Osman is usually around 90, and if he could ever figure out where his offspeed was going, I wouldn't want to face the kid. Exceptional arm from the outfield, but raw in every category.

Dtiger, that is who I am speaking of, very strong arm from the outfield.

Who are the two freshman at Mckinney? I remember one of my friends telling me that they were pretty good but I guess I will have to see for myself come March 13. Thats gonna be a fun one.

OPson11, That would be Zach Lee and Matt Lipka.

FHSbaseball1- Im really lovin it! Our new coach is GREAT and the whole team is really meshing well...we did graduate a few but with what we picked up I think its going to be a pretty SOLID team. Its going to come down to our hitting, we have above average pitching and position players so idk I guess we will find out come Feb.

How did McKinney North do last year in the playoffs?

North lost to FW Arlington Heights in the state semi-finals in Austin.

I coached against Beavan and Rupp this year at the AC games...then moved to Texas, and Im looking forward to following thier progress.

anyone know anything about mesquite poteet..heard their new coach did pretty well last year with a pretty young group..

BBW, Poteet will be short on pitching this year graduated to very good seniors. Infield should be very good.They have a very good freshman class.

The kids from the Sports -- or are they a year or two away?

PD, One more year. They are now the Dallas Panthers Elite. Poteet does need a catcher and a first baseman.
