I'll start us off I guess; ---Alex Peguerro- Riverdale Baptist ---Mike Murphy- Georgetown Prep ---Marcus Jones- Landon School ---Mike Moss- Walter Johnson ---Brendan Holden- Bullis *(Could be a sleeper; Doesn't consider Baseball his #1 sport, but he should)
Add Derek Goughenour from Riverdale. Had a monstrous first half, batting nearly 700. Tailed off in second half, but still ended up close to 500 with 4 HR and 39 RBIs.
I think you can add Will Krasne to that list. I like your bat speed, defense in the field, and understanding of the game. With your ability to change speeds, I think you will do very, very well your senior year.
Al, You mentioned my boy Ryan Murray. I can't say enough good things about him. Hard nosed player, tough as nails, competitive as heck, outstanding attitude. Whomever gets him will have a dandy player on their hands.
Also in that class is Ryan's friend Mark Hammond. Throws Left - Hits left. Centerfielder bats leadoff. Great patience at the plate hits for excellent avg.- smart kid, all around gentleman. EXTREMELY coachable!
One of the real sleepers is Scott Ritter also at SJPH. Best kept secret. Throws L, bats R. Hit .431 with .493 OBP this year in MIAA "A" division. Wonderful young man. Real hard worker.
My personal favorite for 2005 is Tyler Redick. CF at Walkersville HS. L/L, fast, great instincts, hits to all fields, outstanding work ethic, fantastic attitude, base stealing threat.
