dirtbag -- I don't mind speculating -- our playoff hopes are.....remote Cool

Top teams in 2007 (based on returning players and current JV success) -- Coppell, FM, Rockwall, Rowlett, and Prestonwood Christian. Others to watch...Waxahachie, Plano West, Jesuit, Martin. Those hit hard by graduation -- Mansfield, HP, Allen. Questions -- Poteet, Plano East (I like positioning our guys as the underdogs), Mequite Horn, McKinney North, Rockwall Heath.

Let's discuss top 2007 players later! cleverman
I know I sound like a real homer here, but I really think Rockwall will have a strong team next year. If you add the kids that played on JV this year to the group of Juniors and the Sophomore, Wink there's a chance for us to be real strong. There are several very good athletes in this bunch and some really good arms. We will have at least 4, possibly 5 kids that will be throwing in the upper 80's by next spring IMHO. The JV team outhomered the varsity this year, and there is some speed coming as well. I really think that 07 will be a strong year and I'm going to predict that in 08, we'll be back in Round Rock!! I also predict that there will be at least 3 D-1 signees from the 07 class and as many as 5 from the 08 class. What do you think SwingDoc? I guess you can start calling the Swami2 with all these predictions!!! Big Grin

Please note: I do realize we could also go 5-9 in our new district both these years and even miss the playoffs. Nothing is set in stone and I'm the first to admit that. But we have a really good coach that knows what he's doing and he'll get these guys working hard and winning lots of ball games.

Good Luck to your girls at State.... one of my best memories of HS was participating at the AZ State Golf Meet and running into a Western Diamondback on the 7th hole.... Eek.

GOOD LUCK and let us know how they finish up.........

Marcus in 2007?????????? We just won't know till next year and we see what the summer/fall does for our players, one thing I do know is our new district will be another baseball heavy district (Coppell, N.Smith, FM and LHS) for us..............

Texan and L.A.,

You are soooo right, our golf coach always told us to make sure that when we went OB to carry our club with authority as we might need to use it for the snakes.....In AZ that was status quo, but when I played at Hilton Head that club didn't do me any good when I went OB and came face to face with a hissing alligator.... only thing that worked on that was "fast feet"......... walk and a bag full of balls, as I never went OB to look for another ball that weekend.

Old Pitcher,
I oft have been referred to as Mr. Optimistic...That being said, I like our chances as well the next couple of years and have not given up on this year. I know you haven't either but its gonna work in the Rock's favor. Seems the players have finally bonded and they have a purpose. It'll be a huge weekend and final week for the Rockwall Nine.
I'm betting on the Orange~ Cool

SwingDoc,

I feel the same way Doc! I'm glad to hear the guys are starting to come together. There were several seniors at our facility last night hitting for a couple of hours. I know they want it really bad, so their going to really focus and make a good run and I feel we could go pretty deep with this bunch now that they are all on the same page. It's been a tough year for the seniors I know, but they aren't quitters, so they're going to do what it takes to win some games and finish up strong. See you tomorrow. Oh...one more thing...our girls wrap up district tonight, finishing in 2nd place. It's senior night for them. They're gonna make a strong run too, and get to Round Rock in my opinion!

Go Jackets...and Lady Jackets!!

I think Irving High School will be a contender next year seeing as how they are only losing 3 starting seniors and the rest is made up of 3 starting sophomores and 3 juniors with a good JV group
