The President has had this decision on her desk for months now.... I thought that "theater" folks needed to have a sense of timing???   maybe thats why she's in administration. She was in charge when they "cut" at Mansfield in PA.

Yes.... a sad day for Towson Baseball, as well as the sport as a whole.  For the so called athletic dept. to allow this to come to pass is inexcusable.... and I think it starts right at the top of that department. That guy will be gane soon but the Team will also........ I'm cryin.... for the fine Coaches.... as well as the great bunch of student-athletes and their parents.    I'm cryin for Maryland baseball........ sad...........

Here is article with more details....interesting that this move will allow them to spend more on Football and Basketball programs to make them more competive. She made a comment "“If you’re not going to be somewhat competitive, you shouldn’t be in the game at all,” Loeschke said." Baseball team nealry swept Duke this weekend and if off to a 6-4 start....I guess we can expect to Towson Basketball program in the Final Four soon....

Why does not the number of differnet sports that you can offer your school to particpate in and watch/support not count as "winning"?

That is great news. Having had my sport cut in what would have been its 100th year by my alma mater I know the sting. Really happy for the Towson players.

It sure will be interesting to see how the recruiting goes moving forward. The coach and the program need to get the $$$ support asap to make recruits feel comfortable. Good Luck Towson Baseball!
