My 16u son attended a TPX camp last fall. We've been to several showcases and this was well run, well organized and the college coaches they advertised as being there did in fact attend. The first day was drills and skill evaluation. 60 times, arm strength, hitting, etc. The second day consisted of a controlled game situation. Received written evaluation at the conclusion from the college coaches. OldDude son has received letters and calls from some coaches that I attribute directly to the event.

Now, does it make sense to send a 7-9th grader? Another question; but the one last fall did have a couple of sophmores. They were generally overmatched but likely good experience for them.
I concur with olddude (hey i feel old also)

I recently attended one in Texas. Well run, evals by colleges, etc Note this is not a showcase, but provides evals and game by college coached in attendance.

Provided good feedback from college coaches who do not know my son. You can evals and work to improve. It has opened up some opportunties at their recommendation since the have seen him.
Thanks for your replies. I've heard they do a good job with all their events. My real question I guess is with the age level. My son plays on multiple AAU teams along with his middle school team and town.We have a very busy schedule as you can imagine. Just wondering if people think it is worth it for this age or should we wait for high school. Thanks
Your not specific about his age. This is college coached evaluating players on a high school scale.

There were some younger kids (very few) at the event - my guess was 7/8th grade and the parents told me they were there to learn and get the experience for later.

My vote would be to wait until high school before I spent the money. Others may say to go ahead....
