As a longtime Indians fan I can only remember one time I was more upset, when they let Jim Thome get away. They will forever be known as the team that develops talent and trades them away before they have to pay them real money. What is the sense of getting 11 prospects when you know if one develops into a superstar, he will be traded away. The best minor league league team in the majors!!!!
Texas Rangers came to their senses and realized that Roy Halladay didn't want to come to TX -- which is good, because the prospects the Rangers would have had to give away are starting to come into their own.

The current pitching is coming along nicely and the minor league teams are LOADED.

2010 and 11 could be exciting years -- thanks to the fact that the Rangers did right thing by doing nothing today.
Did any of you watch it all on MLBTV yesterday?

Harold Reynolds was unreal with his commentary. He even went so far as to call Baseball America to task regarding what makes them such an authority regarding top prospects in each teams farm system

He has some great insight as does the rest of their panel of ex big leaguers and GM's
I keep scratching my head with the Braves trades as of late.

They trade Francouer for Church and IMO it was nothing but a wash. Francouer was the home town kid that everyone loved to watch. But trading for Church was not a plus.

They trade Kotchman yesterday for LaRoche. Why? Again, another wash. If I were LaRoche, I wouldn't even unpack my suitcase! LOL

What was his take? I have often wondered what made BA the gospel. Most of their "picks" are obvious because of stats, size, experience etc. Have not seen them go out on a limb to find those below the radar.
