I am interested in transfering to a FL JUCO after attending a Division 1 program in the Northeast. Unfortunately I had to medically redshirt after having labrum surgery but will be fully recovered by the mid-end of July. I dont want to major in the current field i am at the school so i am looking to transfer.
In high school i was an all-state player. I am 6'1" 180-185lbs. I am a C/3B/1B and run the 60 in 7.01. In my final two years of HS i hit over .400 with 8HR's and around 60RBI.
I was wondering what i should do after i get my release from my current coach. Should i call the FL JUCO's i am interested in and tell them about me and maybe ask for a tryout in August sometime or???
Thanks for all the help

it's been my experience that you really need to have someone call for you. like your coach or a scout.the schools i had talked with told me they really don't need to recruit kids from up north, they have plenty in state.i have seen some northern kids on rosters but not many.but don't stop trying .start calling now.2 coaches told me they save a few spots for dnf.just know it's going to take some work. good luck i hope it works for you.
Go to their websites and check their rosters. Contact the coaches yourself, then also have a coach contact for you. They do some tryouts in July. Come down and make the rounds. If a coach has openings, he will probably give you a courtesy tryout. There are 17 C.C's that I can think of off the top of my head and there may be more that have baseball. Do your homework if your serious and good luck.
