Travel Ball Select Website

Question....There is a website called Travel Ball Select. Does anyone know how much "weight" is actually put on sights like that when it comes down to scouts? That sight mentions a lot of teams/players. But it also DOESN'T mention a lot of excellent teams/players. I know for a fact, that they have "scouts" who are associated with other teams that actually provide information to the website. I also know that it is a membership site. In order for your player to be "scouted" you have to be a member of the site.

Just curious is anyone out there even pay any attention to sites like this?

I don't know anything about the organization but what scout, college or professional is going to go and look at 14U players?

Good point SWAC. Not to disagree, but was Robert Stock being scouted when he was 14? Or did he simply go to the Junior Olympics and amaze people? I guess the question is, do you think they knew of a 14 year old throwing 90+ before he went to Junior Olympics?

I was just curious because I see a lot of 12, 13 and 14 yr olds mentions on this site as being the "best in the country". It just sounded ridiculous to me that scouts would be looking at 12-14 yr old boys!

Travel Ball Select is nothing more than a site that feeds egos and preys on parents. There is no guidelines for this guys rankings or "all american" teams,etc.. He gathers his info from parents whose kids play in the tournaments his site mentions.

I agree with most of the posts about this website. It does feed egos and you're probably right, not too many scouts looking at 12-14 y.o. However, it does get the players in this age brackets excited about getting some print and gives them something to look forward to. I know it's not always about the players which it should be, some parents over do it. But some of the boys and teams on this website are genuinely excellent players and teams and deserve recognition.

I am a scout and never heard of it till this posting and nothing about 16 17 and 18 and under players... those are the guys we want to see guys playing on 18 and under or high school teams.
