Does each D1 conference have a different rule for how many players can travel to away games? I just heard that Ivy League schools allow only 22? That seems very low to me. What is the norm here?
Can't speak for anyone else, but Dartmouth takes 28 to FL on their spring trip. Not sure, but it's either 24 or 22 travel on Ivy League weekends and 22 or 20 travel for midweek games. It's been soooo long since they've played, I can't remember.
As far as I understand it, the conference sets the size of the travel squad for their conference games, but not necessarily for the non-conference games their teams play.
Post-season rules are established by NCAA, which regulates the maximum number of people who can travel for the regionals/super-regionals/world series, including the number of "managers" etc.
