If the 3rd base coach requests for and is granted time to speak with his batter, is it OK for the defensive manager to leave the dugout and visit the pitcher for the same length of time without it being charged as a "visit"?

I don't think so, but I was informed last night by an umpire that because the 3rd base requested "time" that the defensive manger could go out there because it "was the other guy's time". I think it counts as a "visit", so the next time he goes out the pitcher must be removed. Your thoughts please. Thanks

So if the offensive coach initiates the meeting and the defensive coach comes out and is talking - then the offensive meeting ends while the defensive team is talking then the ump tells them it's a called meeting?

What about when an inning or half inning is over and the offensive team is now coming onto the field to play defense one of the basecoaches comes across the IF and picks the ball up and tosses / hands to the pitchers and says something like - come on you can do it.

Neither player nor coach stop and talk - they keep walking to where they are going.

Would that be considered a trip?
This part of the "don't take it too literal." If the defense doesn't turn as the offense is breaking up thne the PU tells the DM to get going. If he doesn't imediately comply then charge him. If he does go right away then let it go.
For the second part of the question that is not a visit. He can even stop and talk to him as long as the pitcher is warming up and it doesn't delay the start of the inning. If he delays the warm-ups then cut the number down. If you forsee a problem then tell him to move along.
