Game #2

OC Dawgs-1
Trombly Braves-2

Aaron Gates-LHP/OF ('08 Orange Lutheran) was our starting pitcher and threw a complete game to get the win. The Dawgs got a run off him in the 1st inning on 3 hits, but then he settled down and was very dominate the final 6 innings. In all, he allowed 1 run on 6 hits and struck out 11 while walking 1. At the plate, Gates went 2 for 3.

Bryan Nicholson-LHP/OF ('07 Pacifica/Mt. SAC) went 2 for 3 w/ 2 2B's and a run scored.

Derek Waldron-OF ('08 Canyon) went 1 for 2 w/ the game winning RBI.

The Trombly Braves are now 31-2 on the summer and are headed to the 17U AABC Don Mattingly World Series in Flemington, NJ (Aug 6-12). This will be the Braves 3rd consecutive World Series appearance and the 4th World Series trip for our program in the 5 years we have fielded teams. Hopefully we will represent Southern California well.
I appreciate all of the comments you have posted on this thread. I can see how due to the success we have had it might appear I am coming on here and "patting myself on the back" as someone said. First of all, I had no idea how our team would do in terms of wins and losses and posted the highlight of each game, whether it was a win or loss, from the 1st game until the most recent. Because our players have played so well and had a lot of success it might appear to be rubbing it in. I can assure you that even if we were a .500 team, I would have posted the same. Also, since I have been posting after each game was played I had no idea what the next game would bring or how the entire summer would go. Had I came on here now and posted after the games were played, that would be different.

I know that some people do not like to see what I have posted here. I have a very easy solution, when you see the thread titled "Trombly Braves", do not open it and read it!

I do appreciate this wonderful website and I believe that I along with our team and players have been able to benefit from it. Someone mentioned all of the money that it takes to run this site, etc. I will contact Julie and see what I could do to help out.
TR,
That is the best option and will ultimately be done. The problem is I had a parent who wanted to be in charge of our website and said they had the time and knowledge to do so. I gave them full control of it. Well, that was the beginning of the fall and as you can see not much has been done. What I am supposed to do? They were doing it for free and I have made several comments about the site. I need to figure out a way to have the website updated very often, daily if needed. Any suggestions?

Our website is still currently activated, in fact a few weeks ago I just paid the Annual Fee to keep it done. I just do not have the tme or knowledge to keep it updated myself. I have paid someone in the past (Matt who runs Baseball Resource) to update it, but that would be too expensive to do on a regular basis.

I think you miss the point--- if every team did as he is doing imagine what this site would look like ---let him use a free site which is devoted to teams and their players--I know plenty that do and the manager can update him every day in a matter of minutes

In essence the man has developed his own web page on a free site
Thanks!

Our players/coaches/families had a great time in New Jersey. It was very beautiful area and a great place to spend a week. The host families were awesome and really made a huge difference in the overall experience. We met some great people who I am sure we will stay in contact with for years to come. Winning the National Championship was great and was our goal, but there were so many great experiences that we had outside of the games that will last a lifetime.
