Great advice here. Coaches know you will never go a season without making a mistake. So it's very important to show us how well you can rebound mentally and physically from a mistake.

If you boot one step back up and take another. Remember this: You don't get any better going to the back of the line.

Relax, hustle and let your body take over. You do that and you will do well and have a good time.

Good luck
Update:
Today was alright. Not my best day but not a bad day either. First we did running where I did alright. After that we did throwing drills where I did pretty good. Then the pitchers threw a bullpen. I was cruising around 70 MPH. After all this we did a bat speed test where I did pretty good. Overall not a bad day. Tommorow we are scrimmaging.
ro1249, I am so sorry. I know you must be very disappointed.

This is a good time to step back and evaluate which direction you want to go. Is it time to pursue another sport? Is there a hobby or some type of work that interests you? Perhaps there are other activities that could sink your teeth into.

If you are not ready to give up on baseball, I would encourage you to ask the baseball coach for feedback on your performance and abilities. Ask him what he would recommend that you do to get better. Then follow his advice and work hard. Try to play for a summer team. There is always a chance you might make the team next year.

Best wishes as you look at all your options.
ro1249 you received great advice from Infield08.

I have read many, many accounts of freshmen in the exact position that you are in and they worked hard and they worked smart on their game and they made the team the next year and flourished.

You can do the same ro1249. The fact that you are here on this website seeking advice and guidance is an excellent step in the right direction.

Please keep us posted with your progress between now and next season...because it will be your efforts during that time period which will determine your success.
