Ringer - you posted earlier, but no score on the Rowlett v Garland game....what was the outcome?

Sorry about that. I always wait till the scores are posted on the DMN website so I don't screw up anyone's name or score. The score wasn't posted by the time I went to bed so I just waited till this morning.

Garland 1 Rowlett 14

--------R H E
Garland 1 2 3
Rowlett 14 14 1

Individual Pitching / Hitting
WP--Andrew Smith - 5 Inning CG Run Rule
LP--J.T. Mohrie
2B--ROW: David Jackson 1. ROW: Drew Mayhall 1.

Drew Mayhall, Rowlett - Was 4-for-4 with three RBIs

Tie game through three innings then Rowlett's bats turned on. Rowlett allowed one hit out of the infield all day and it was to the very first batter of the game. Gsrland did a good job of moving him around to score their run.

Plano vs. Plano East game sounds interesting.

Eastsideplano19, I don't think this website is the right forum for your threats, or accusations. I am not trying to stir the pot, but what you are saying is extremely inflamatory and only one side of the story...and this story doesn't need to be told here, will only make things worse.
Hebron at Coppell at Tuesday, March 25, 2008

Hebron 4 Coppell 6
R H E
Hebron 4 5 1
Coppell 6 11 1

Individual Pitching / Hitting
2B--COP: Chad Kettler 2. COP: Jonathan Walsh 1. HEB: Patrick Kocher 1.
HR--COP: Austin Elkins 1.
3B--COP: Adam Toth 1. COP: Matt Reynolds 1.
WP--Erik Nieder
Sv--Chad Kettler
LP--Reid Davis

As the DMN indicated Kettler was outstanding at the plate and on the mound but the quiet story of this team continues to be how Austin Elkins leads by example and the tone he sets in the field and at the plate. The tone in this game was set on the first pitch game leading off HR Austin parked in right center. Erik Nieder only gave up one earned run and keep Hebron off balance most of the night to move to 3-0 and only 4 earned runs over 19 or 20 innings. Hebron has a solid team and looks to contend for the District Championship with solid hitting and pitching.

WP - Baker
LP - Moreno

After a very rough first inning, Baker settled in and pitched well for a complete game victory. The win moves the Cards into second place in 7-5A with a big game Friday against Jesuit at our place. The Cards are swinging the bat well and playing some defense. Hope we can keep it up.

Dtiger, I would welcome the chance to introduce myself to you on Friday after the game. Ask the Smart Son (Catcher #20) to point me out if you like.

Regarding Plano East & Plano, I don't see a need to present one side of the story. I realize that the two sides will not agree. However, I want to express my sincere condolences to Bo and his family for the injury. I am truly sorry that this player was hurt. I will pray for his speedy recovery.

Get well soon Bo..

The Alves Family.
Having coached Bo in the summer the past 3 years, I can say that he is one of the smartest baseball players on the field and one of the nicest kids you will ever meet. His physical tools are starting to match his mental skill and that is scary. I've told him privately how sorry I am to hear the news, but I have no doubt he will recover and come back stronger than ever. Good luck on getting that forearm to heal Bo.

As I mentioned to MeatsDad last night, Nieder threw well and deserved the win he got, working the corners, and Kettler was certainly a change of pace and was throwing hard. From a Hebron perspective, I'm sure the team is disappointed in the loss, but after the game they seemed to understand they can hang with anyone. Three straight two-out, line-drive RBI singles in the fourth moved them to within one run, and that was encouraging. It's a team that seems to be gaining some momentum.

Elkins' HR was a beauty, although I prefer he save that kind of stuff for FM. . .

North Side’s Salazar does it all in 1-0 win
Posted: Wednesday, March 26, 2008
Rob Salazar of Fort Worth North Side not only pitched all seven innings of a 1-0 victory Tuesday night at Saginaw, he scored the winning run. Salazar reached on a single to right field in the sixth inning, stole second base two pitches later, stole third base one pitch later and came home on a squeeze. "That’s my man, right there," coach Conley Wendt said. "He’s 5-foot-3 and 120 pounds soaking wet, and I wish I had 20 of him. If I did, I’d win the state tournament tomorrow." Salazar improved to 2-2 on the mound with the victory. He struck out seven, allowed three singles and walked one. He also has five saves for the Steers (7-10, 1-4 District 6-4A), who play host to Western Hills on Friday

I witnessed this game first hand, I will be nominating this kid for Player of the week because he was outstanding on the mound for a little guy...however, there are a few holes in the story. The reporter must have gotten a second or third hand version.

He gave up 3 singles (and 2 triples)... The single to right that he hit, went under the secondbasemens glove, between his legs and into right field, and the squeeze play mentioned was a fullswing dribbler to the mound which was thrown to the plate a waiting a charging runner (ball beat the runner by at least 4 steps)who knocked the ball out of the glove. what was funny was the kid as mentioned was 120 lbs and the catcher is 6-4 230lbs...(nice squeeze play)

Dtiger called his outing frustrating, the Saginaw pitcher gave up 3 hits, 15 K's and was stranded on 3rd, 3 times...

Belew threw a no-no...I know there was some talk about whether or not his last outting was a no-no, but if it was, he has back-to-back no-no's! If not, one hit in his last two games...wow!

Nice job Travis!

This game was more than a no-no... it was a perfect game. He fanned 13 of 15 batters he faced.

Was Woodruff wild, or were there a lot of Forney mistakes. Who followed Woodruff? Too bad about the bats. Forney had been hitting well. Nowell must have been on his game that night.

Woodruff wasn't wild. I think Poteet managed to get 8 hits (legitimately) off Woodruff. Forney did make several errors but those were aside from the hits. IMO Poteet actually had more trouble with the guy that followed Woodruff.

Definitely looking forward to the next meeting between the two teams. I'm sure the game will be much closer in score next time.
