Need some advice. By nature of my job my 2011 gets free tuition. Books and room and board are not covered. He started on varsity as a sophomore. Currently 5'10", 180#. Played summer ball on a competitive and well known team within our state. Played in two high profile tournaments (WWBC). Plays third and pitches. Topped out at 84 as a sophomore. Probably a better pitcher than hitter. Went 3-1 with an ERA in the low 3s (36 innings pitched) in summer travel ball. He has sent several letters out to baseball programs that he is interested in. He has received a letter from one D-1 program asking him to fill out a questionnaire. Question is how would you approach programs about him having tuition covered already just needing a place for him to be wanted.
Thanks

I wouldn't bring it up at all. It's not going to help him get recruited, but it could very well lead to teams trying to take advantage of him.

In the end if he's worth 25% to someone, then you can add that 25% to what you already have going for you and close the gap. If you're not careful, someone will take him for granted and you'll get nothing additional for his baseball talents.
