BBDad - there are many good NAIA programs in Texas and Oklahoma.

Recently, there's been a ton of national discussion among the smaller NAIA programs wanting to stop funding scholarship athletics. The small schools out number the big programs like LCU. Therefore, most of the big schools are transitioning to D2 to keep their scholarship athletic programs. The expense of funding these programs, for the small school, is going to push a vote very soon. The big schools will lose in a vote, they are too far outnumbered.

So, if you are getting some good NAIA looks, make sure you ask about this process. It takes 3 years to move affiliations so make sure you know what the plan is. Also, you can PM me if you have any specific questions, as there are usually three different scenarios that occur.

Also, as far as expenses, baseball and academic scholarships can make it very manageable.
