Thanks bbscout and everyone! We are so EXCITED!!!! Dan flew to AZ yesterday and took a cab to Bank One Ballpark. I had visions of my favorite scene in "The Rookie" in my head.
We're flying to LA tomorrow to see them face the Dodgers. Even if he doesn't get to play while we're there, it will be awesome!

I first came on this site 6 years ago when Dan was a college freshman. During those years we've been through so much and found incredible support and information on hsbaseballweb. Nothing was sweeter today than peeking in on the site and finding this thread. Thanks for sharing this special time with us.

A while back I came to realize, the day was coming when many HSBBW sons were going to play at the highest levels of college and professional baseball.

Not being the sharpest tack around, it sure feels good to be right once in awhile.

Fantastic, the callup to the show and a base hit as well!!
It must be neat for some of the originals from this site to watch as their kids & other's kids make their way thru the ranks all the way to mlb.

Thank you for thinking about us. It's been an unbelievably fun weekend. We had 10 relatives in the stands last night for Dan's big game and you could tell where we were sitting by the camera flashes that were going off when his picture came up on the Jumbo screen ...and of course by the screams after he squeaked out that hit.

We all went out to eat after the game and had a blast. Dan said they gave him the line up card, the ball, and all sorts of other stuff to keep as mementos of his big night. Over and over he told us how nice the coaches and other teammates have been and how welcome they've made him feel. He just can't stop smiling.

We'll fly back to the real world tomorrow, but these memories will last a lifetime. Wish you all could be here!
