I know about University of Chicago academically but what about athletically? Also, what about Lawrence university academically and athletically? Thanks.

Univ. of Chicago has typical Northern school weather issues. Lots of rainouts that typically don't get made up at the D3 level. Some teams in the University Athletic Association lose 15-25% of their games each year to weather.
There is some good baseball played in the league. Emory was the runner up to Trinity in the NCAA's last year, and there are some good coaches in the league.
These D3 schools place much more emphasis on their basketball and football.
