Anyone with experience in purchasing $5 uncirculated or proof gold coins know about how much they will sell for? I see at the mint.dot.gov site the prices aren't available yet. Just wondering.....wondering mostly if the half dollars will fit my wallet better?

The $5 gold coin weighs ~0.3oz of 90% gold, so the gold content alone is $360. I have no idea how they'll price it, but I'm sure they get a hefty premium on top of the gold content. It wouldn't surprise me if it were priced at $1000.
Could be around $1000 or $1500 --maybe

These coins are being issued in recognition and celebration of the National Baseball Hall of Fame, which celebrates its 75th anniversary in 2014.
The National Baseball Hall of Fame Coins are scheduled to go on sale at noon on March 27, 2014.
Prices for the coins will include surcharges of $35 for each gold coin, $10 for each silver coin, and $5 for each half-dollar, which are authorized to be paid to the National Baseball Hall of Fame, an independent not-for-profit educational institution, to help fund its operations.

I dont see any Gold coins in my furture...I will play without the king & queen...
I will have to find a sugar mama to buy me the gold coins.
The "waiting room" has a long wait....!
Are you in the door yet, jlaro?
I hate shopping on the interent... all those long lines...ha ha
yeah.. Keewart I had to wait too... 1st 5 minutes then it went to 15 minutes...
what onto another page to the web site then it said 2 hours... close that one and waited...
10 more minutes.... got my items into the cart and the page wold not load..
But I got the silver dollar and two half dollar coins...next time the ump said says lets flip a coin for 'HOME & AWAY' I pull that coin out of my pocket...
It should make a good conversation piece around the yard...
I can BS about how a hard ball hit me in the pocket and bent my coin...lmao..
I almost push the button for the gold coin.. but then said wait .... that is the price of a Easton Mako BBCOR bat... my son would be pissed if I got that gold coin...
so I saved money and got him the bat... and me to flip my coin while I watch him play...
Heads you win , tails you win...
Joe
I purchased several for my boys (ok, and one for me). The one I purchased has already sold on eBay at 3X+ the cost.
I'm in the wrong business.
Why folks would go to eBay first when they can purchase right from the site is beyond me.

Yeah, but no chance you can sell the Mako for more next year than you bought it for this year.
