It had to be tough on the hitters concentrating on the pitches from the pink bunny.
They do things a bit different on the left coast, don't they? That is really funny!

Stony Brook University has been playing 'in costume" for Halloween the last few years also. This was their 3rd year of a friendly intra-squad softball game in costume. They all had a great time judging from the picture in their student paper! (sorry- couldn't copy it to post here)
I think its a great idea and it sure seems like the guys really enjoy it. Great memories for the guys as well down the road.

What we learned on my son's visit, is that the tradition started in Coach Gillespie's first year at UCI. Apparently after a fall practice Coach jokingly told the team that he expected to see them in costume the following practice for Halloween. Well, the team took him serious and showed up the next day with their costumes on...the coaching staff had a laugh, and the Spooktacular Tradition was born!
I heard the pink bunny pitcher kept missing strikes by a HARE.
