In a news release, U.C.L.A. said its accepted students had “demonstrated excellence in all aspects of their lives.” Citing its record 57,670 applications, the university proclaimed itself “the most popular campus in the nation.”
It is important that the HS athlete prepares early for this qualification process. The 4 A's - ability,academics, aptitude and attitude.
If you are accepted, do not become "careless".

Many decades ago, as a young freshman at the "cow" college in East Lansing, the 5,000 freshman were told by the Dean, "look to your left and look to your right", they will not be here in 4 years".
Six years later with 2 degrees, a College World Series and 21 months in US Army, I left for the California "gold rush" and "never returned"to Michigan.
