Much stability in the UCONN program as coach Penders has been with the team 13 years and all of his assistants at least 5. Penders recruits heavily in state (more than Hoop coaches); nearly 60% of roster from CT (thought it was higher). Not uncommon for some sophomores or juniors before summer to commit. PG currently lists 1 sophomore and 2 juniors committed. A number of redshirts on roster. Roster heavy with pitchers too. Perhaps this speaks of depth as one of their truly blue chip players from current freshman class (RHP/SS-- strong with the bat), will be PO middle relief. Another freshman was drafted; George Springer is an alum as is Lee Mazzili's son. As is the case with other state schools, some players transfer due to playing time. UCONN has a number of inhouse camps which they recruit. They also do some Top96 showcases. Much travel in AAC conference.. conference schools are very widespread. Some upgrades due in their fields in future which has camera ready equipment to tape practices. Hope that helps--PM me if you have specific questions.
