I just wanted to share that one of our own here at HSBBWeb, Fred Corral, just accepted the job as new pitching coach at the University of Georgia. Coach Corral posted here actively and while he hasn't been as active lately, provided an extreme wealth of knowledge to the site.

Coach Corral is one of the most innovative minds in the game and I am proud to consider him in my circle of baseball acquaintances. I exchanged text messages with him this afternoon and he seems to be absolutely elated about the opportunity.

Congrats to Fred Corral!

The University of Georgia is a perennial power in the SEC and the national baseball scene. Their most recent trip to Omaha was in 2008.

JH, at one time until just recently they were a perennial power but over the past 3-4yrs they have been cellar dwellars in the SEC. Much to my dismay as I love everything UGA. But my own personal opinion is that the ex-head coach was asleep at the wheel it seemed. I have friends over there and some crazy stories were coming out that just didn't make sense to me. Nevertheless, it seems or so I hope, the ship has been righted and better days are ahead for UGA baseball.

I wish Coach Corrall tremendous success, and welcome to God's country! lol
