Not sure yet on how I feel about this... any insight on what will happen if UIL takes over... specifically baseball?

My chapter is not certified...yet. If they are not, then I guess I'll just have to go with another chapter that is. Problem is, it will cost more because of travel. Bigger problem is...will they have enough umpires to send us 2 that are quality.

I am guessing that you use the local chapter CCBUA. Have they told you that they are not going with UIL or are they still waiting?
North Texas TASO Chapter. They are not sure if they will be certified.
Hoping they don't give in to the hostile takeover by the UIL. The UIL blinked during football and volleyball season a few weeks ago when they realized they had no officials to continue football and volleyball season.
I'm a TASO football official.
I know several guys in our chapter that are experienced, good officials. Some have been doing college D II games for 6-7 years. If UIL requires registration they will leave the HS ranks and just do the college games. It's a shame.
UIL wants control, but they will not use any UIL money to help recruit, educate and train new officials???

Why are you saying that they won't use any money recruit, educate and train new officials??? Do you know something that the general population of officials does not know?
UIL has told TASO Football that they aren't interested in helping train or recruit new officials.
If UIL does takeover, they have stated that the recruiting and training should be done at chapter level. So, UIL wants control but they aren't willing to "pitch in" and help recruit and train new officials.

The judge heard the case yesterday... anyone have any news... he promised to rule by 12/1...
Here is an update... really nothing finalized the Judge just put off the Registration Date for Officials to register with UIL ... more to come

I received a memo from the UiL stating that we were to operate under 1204 this year...just the way we did last year!
