This story just aired a few hours ago here in STL. The high school mentioned is in our town, and I was expecting a story about the team's potential to make a run, but instead watched a great story about how they are making a difference in appreciating umpiring crews. 2024 has some buddies on this team, great to see something positive on TV for a change!

Love the story @CubsFanInSTL. So true about kids not wanting to get into umpiring. All 3 of my kids umpired, and none lasted more than 3 years. They didn't want to listen or deal with coaches who didn't know the rules or parents in the stands. More needs to be done to appreciate umpires, and what Fort Zumwalt West's coach is doing is fantastic.
#3 Zumwalt West is rolling along and will play a perennial powerhouse in #7 Francis Howell and Missouri HS baseball legend Coach Tony Perkins for the district crown this Friday. West is up 4-0 on Howell this season, which is quite an accomplishment in this neck of the woods. I know where I'll be Friday night...
Great story as I have become numb from the atrocious behavior by some of the spectators over the years.
