after running an ad for a 14 year old player this is what I received..

Subject: player
Date: Sat, 9 Feb 2008 03:48:42 +0000

what tournaments are you scheduled to play?
how many other "A" players do have on your team?
do you need an elite middle infielder and pitcher?
how many tournaments do you plan on playing?
what league do you play in?
where is your home field?
do you play 60/90? or 54/80 (I will only play 60/90)

Me: Right handed/switch hitter/ spec. in middle infield and pitch
have played all over the u.s. last year with team mizuno of florida, golden triangle of penn., briarwood out of denver, played with team illinois in the late summer and fall, raiders out of florida(winter ball)

I am not looking to be coached, I am looking for a 14 year old team to play for in April & May, we'll see how things develop from there and talk about the future tournaments later. If your looking for a "player" please call

I couldnt believe it,,this is the same dad that caused a thread here to be deleted about a year ago..seems the old man loves promoting his kid,,even wrote the response like his kid answered the ad..amazing

I just have to laugh at a dad that responds to ads under the guise of a kid, doubt a 14 year old boy could come off that way.would it be safe to say dad has some issues?

not for nothing, but excluding his second question and the word elite in his third, he asks good questions in his first paragraph.

He's looking to sell himself and provideed a resume in the second.

and if he didn't start the third paragraph the way he did, it seems to be a resonable response to a coaches add looking for a player.

If this was a Private Message to a coach, why would that coach make it public?

Alot of "if's" in your post. If only if!

Come on, the guy is a nut job that isn't looking for his son to be coached, he said it himself. He's soooooooo good that he just needs to be left alone and play the game.

As far as it being a private message, he didn't identify the source so where's the right to privacy violation? GEEEEEEZ!

only one if counted.

I see a lot of nut jobs. Some sound like the guy the answered the coaches add. Some sound like wogdoggy, and some sound like you.

I do agree with Lefty34 though.

I count two but maybe things get counted differently in Texas?

I guess if he "excluded" some of his words, it wouldn't sound as bad. Maybe "if" Don Imus excluded some words recently, he'd still have a job? "If" Bush had kept us out of Iraq, 4000+ Americans would still be alive today.

The fact is he didn't exclude these words which makes his request so ridiculous. Ain't that the point the coach was trying to make here?

You're kind of defending the nutjob dad so what does that make you? I think we're the reasonable sane folks in this conversation, not you and this players dad. Ya think?

To me that is the most UNBELIEVABLE thing about crazy parents. They really don't think they're crazy. To them everything they do is exactly what needs to be done for their superstar to shine. And like someone else stated above they are doing the exact opposite of what they think they're doing. That is, hurting their sons future instead of helping it. UNBELIEVABLE

You got that one right. My son's travel team has several of these parents. Bragging, bad mouthing other kids, proclaiming their kid is the next coming..etc..etc.

It got so bad we just avoid these parents, regardless of what they think. Nothing personal, they just grind on the OLD nerves a bit too much. Makes you wonder.

after i told him to have his agent call me i received this e mail

thank you
maybe you should grow up and realize that their is better talent out their than what you have currently

then I write this

O.k. kid.Either way your dad should be proud of you! You're a real class act ALREADY!probably just like the ole man.

then the father writes this in the kids behalf

no, just a kid who see's and understands politics are realizes it stink's to high heaven!!!!!!!
coaches like you don't care

then i reply

go re read your first e mail..then get a better attitude..good luck to you in your baseball future

then he looses it,,kinda knew it was comming..lol

My son's attitude is great.
Your attitude is something that needs to be evaluated. If you were really looking for a real player, you would jump at the offer. Your probably like all the rest of the political as%%%%%& managers that manage teams that need to protect there own kids because there not good enough to play real travel baseball.

My kid doesn't need to be coached he just wants to play. You can't teach him anything he already doesn't know. You come across intimidated or insecure of that fact. He has professional coaches!

You sound like a man that is trying to fill a void that didn't exist as a child. I'm sorry for you. I hope your team is successful, probably not because you don't play competitive real travel baseball.
Take Care

" You missed the boat "

wow,,,what a nut job im thinking,,so i reply with this

If you sir came with the boat "we" didnt miss anything but a miserable year ...I truly feel sorry for your kid. Hopefully you'll find a team in time this year that will put up with your attitude.Good luck. And consider this,,,maybe it wasnt politics, maybe you just turn peoples stomachs.????

then i get this

We are already playing idiot!
He just wanted to play games locally during the week, and on weekends when he's not traveling down to Texas, Georgia and Florida. I instructed him that if he applies to ads like yours, he will get the kind of responses he's gotten like yours. Intimidated, Insecure and Immature managers like you.
You should really be ashamed of yourself! You really think your doing justice to the families and kid's that participate in/on your team?
Really

so i laugh and think wow the kids got more airline points than bill gates..

so i write back....intimidated insecure immature? NAH ...What im really afraid of is travelling around with a mental midget like yourself. As long as your his dad his upside is limited..do your kid a favor and make yourself SCARCE at his games.

then it gets real ugly with swearing and name calling,,now you know whats wrong with yout sports

I don't advocate the response. But reading this posting and the posting below that talks about players and how to know who is the best and will make it. This kid sounds like the kind of kid that might make it. He already has pro coaches and plenty of attitude. Throw in a few steroids and he is a pro player at a young age. Throw in the crazy dad (as you guys have named him) and you have the agent. Sign this kid today. He will for sure make it.

Wow, it sounds like the young "Barry Bonds" in the making! Where is that kid from? Is he from Joliet, Il? We saw some unbelievable studs in a team called "Victory Baseball Club of Joliet" at 13U world series last year. If he is the 6'3" pitcher who throw 88 mph as a 13 yr old, he may have the right to speak like that.

Wogdoggy:
From the "crazy" Dad's e-mail, he sure make you look like a amateur rec-ball coach. How is your team's competitiveness, would you please clarify this for us?

we aint the best and we aint the worst..kept alot of the same kids for 5 years. obviously it makes this dad feel good to talk down to everybody else..he is his kid's worst enemy

btw this is the same dad that had a thread going about a year ago that was removed by the moderator because hsbw was worried about legal ramifications.

Midlo, i believe your correct,,the kid probably is a good kid and he IS a decent player.unfortunately he has baggage,,,,and not the kind i would subject anyone to have to carry.
This goes both ways. I placed an add for my son on a webpage prior to our move down here to Fl and received about 20 calls or emails. Of those 20 almost everyone said their team was "superior, elite, champions" etc. When we moved down here we found that that wasn't exactly the case. And saw that a lot of these teams are not what they advertised.

although that dad was a bit over the top!
