I know most of the chat is and should be related to varsity teams. However, I wanted to recognize a fantastic accomplishment by the Southlake Carroll (Black) JV team. On Saturday they completed a perfect 24-0 season. In doing so, they outscored their opponents 260-74.

The other JV team at Southlake Carroll (Green) also had a good season, compiling a 19-5 record.

I think the future looks pretty bright for Coach Hughes and Dragons baseball.

SLC underclass teams always do very well, they have huge numbers to pull from and the players are deep in talent also. Those JV teams carry a lot of Junior players that most schools (have to) carry on varsity. I know Ross Stripling played JV All of last year (As a Junior) and he went 9-1 on Varsity this year, This is a player that would have started as a RHP/SS for most High schools as a Soph.

The future will always be bright for system like this!
Congrats to SLC. They have a super baseball (and all athletics) program. The one thing that does bother me (though not as much anymore since they are leaving 5-5A!) is that they have an enrollment of 2400+ jrs and srs only. Most of the other schools in the district have an enrollment of 2200+ (except Keller who has 2800+) that include frosh, sophs, jrs and srs.

I'm sure other coaches would appreciate more talent to pull from as well.
Congrats to those guys!!!

I remember the year Ringer1 son played JV (Help me here Fast Ball Mom) Rowlett's JV went like 22-1-1. Back then everyone was saying "Big deal, it's just JV. Let's see what they do when they are on varsity.". Well their record speaks for itself. For todays Rowlett seniors, combining their JV and Varsity records, it puts their overall record in the range of 49-1-3.

I did not count last year since most of this years seniors were on the varsity roster but did not play hardly at all. I am only counting the years when the guys actually "played".

So it does matter, even if it is JV!!!

Ringer1 - your numbers are probably very close to accurate if not dead on. The winning tradition has continued for the Rowlett seniors! I LOVE it, 27 - 0 this year - proudly displayed on our playoff t-shirts!
