Eagle, my son got it too. Lots to consider before doing it obviously. Is your son highly ranked on Perfect Game by chance?

Eric, last I was able to see..he was ranked in the top 1000. He was unable to go to Jupiter but did signed his NLI last Wednesday to a Big D1 school.

Oh Ok, my son is just a Junior so I figure maybe next year if he hasnt already decided on where to go.

My son recieved the same invite but we also recieved a invite to Perfect Games World Showcase, Which one should we attend? We cannot go to both.

World - it's a no-brainer.

poptime, the Perfect Game events are all well run and well regarded. My opinion, coming from a lot of time around the high school aged circuit (for lack of a better description) is that nearly everyting Baseball Factory does is predicated on the parent's ability to pay, rather than the student-athlete's ability to play.

I've been doing this a long time and seen a lot of good things and many more that were not good. I do not encourage any of my players to pursue any Baseball Factory 'opportunities' while I regularly encourage them to consider PG showcases and tournaments. That's simply my opinion, for what little it may be worth.

Just found this link today.Can you comment on quality of player pool if you recognize some names in your respective state? I know this is just a preliminary list. Jr got an invite from a pro scout recommendation (he did not tryout) and since it is just in our backyard and may get in a discount was considering it as a tune-up prior to the season. Spent at least 1 hour reviewing all opinions about this event and main purpose of possibly trying this out is get some hacks in against live pitching and play defense. HS team start winter league every Saturdays starting January 8th and has time off during this particular weekend hence the idea of checking this out. Not really in for the "AA" title ( Jr blessed to be named PG Rawlings Pre-season AA Underclass Honorable Mention last year ...Thanks PG)

Prefer not to travel during this weekend since it's start of Sunday SAT review.

They had a tryout close to us, in Nov. Decided not to go, because should my son have made the team we could not afford to go to AZ for any games. So, it made no sense, but seems like the players do get attention due to this event.
Instead, we are headed to FL for World Showcase, cannot wait to get out of this COLD!

FWIW, I don't see any of the recognizable names from California on the list. As has been posted before the UAAA is about who wants to pay for the event. Obviously they will pick the best of their pool, but are certainly not getting the top players in the country.
