Individuals competing in the showcase next weekend will receive "team" pairings for the showcase early next week with all players likely competing in 2+ full games during the event. Players will get a full BP session of pitches for hitting as well as live AB's during the games typically receiving 3-5 live AB's/game. All pitchers will through 2-3+ innings during the showcase as well. Showcase results will be made available to individuals and coaches across the region/country. Player profiles will also be created.
Past Time, this is away from the primary topic a bit, but I wanted to pass this on to you and your group.
I had the opportunity to stop by and see a few games during your last two tournaments in Stillwater. During the last tournament I came impressed with one young ball player, I believe he was from a Dallas squad. He was a RH SS but was hitting from the left side that game. What impressed me most about the young man was his confidence. This particular game was a close game and it appeared to me that as the game wore on, he wanted the ball and defensively took over as team leader without having to say a word. The young man displayed a level confidence that was mature beyond his years and his team mates feed off of that. Great job on those tournaments I enjoyed the level of competition they drew.
I was in Casper a couple of weeks ago and saw the Ghost play Orem and I did not see a single player exhibit the attitude or level of confidence that I saw in that one player that afternoon in Stillwater. Probably had something to do with the level of competition but it still showed a special quality. Again congratulations on a another fine tournament.
I have heard this same comment three times (sounds like it could be the same guy), once from one of our directors on site and another from a college coach. You have to think he is one of those "guys" that just "gets it." The competition was certainly present. There are those guys that just have it and know what to do with it. Always a pleasure to have them on the field for sure. Thanks.
