There are a lot of under rated teams in the area. How shocking is it for Bayside to beat Kempsville? I see people talking about Salem, but I have seen both teams play and Bayside has got a good young team.

You are right, those pre-season rankings didn't really mean anything. Salem has a good team, its just that their bats weren't working for them in their opener and their pitching wasn't firing on all cylinders. They will play better.
Bayside played well against Kempsville and Kempsville played poorly. I am not saying it was a fluke, its just how it was. Is it saying Bayside should have been ranked higher than Kempsville, maybe. But like I said before, lets let the team's records determine the standings, not this web site nor the paper. Besides, underated teams have a tendancy to sneak up on people and surprise them. Thats alot of fun, just asked a Bayside player, they sure all had smiles on thier faces on Firday.

I believe they play Cox and FC. Bayside will see Cody Winslow unless the Falcons believe they can save him. That would be a big mistake. FC is always good, but if the Marlins play sound baseball it could be a good game. Bayside has a tough road ahead, but are definately not the 9th place team in the district.
Cox is at Bayside on Tue and FC is at Bayside on Friday, 2 tuff games.
I am a firm believer in let the records do the talking. Bayside out played Kempsville in ALL aspects of the game. Pitching, hitting, and defense. I am not Pro Bayside, but I am for watching good baseball. There is a lot of baseball left. Good Luck to all the young men that work hard for the schools.

Wisebball19, why would Cox save Winslow for Kempsville, he isn't even the best pitcher on the team? The worst thing a coach can do is start trying to pick the games pitchers should throw, they should stay with their rotation.
I agree 100% with you 90plus! This is a huge mistake that many coaches carry out in the time of watched the beach district teams. You should go with your rotation except for the big games versus teams like pa, kellam, fc, and cox. These teams you need your top hurler on the mound even if that means pitching a guy out of rotation., but most of the time they should stick to the rotation.

They played hard as a team, thats how you play the game. They don't have the "Super Star" and maybe you'll see a better brand of baseball from them.
