Union is in the transition period to D2. I wasn't aware Lee was, but Trevecca Nazarene in Nashville is as well.
Union's baseball program is very competitive. I think they are joining the Gulf South, which is a very good D2 conference. It will be tough for Union to compete there, as several of those schools are public, and will have a lower cost to them than Union.
Union is a private, Southern Baptist school. It is not cheap. Total cost of attendance is about $38,000/year. Campus is very nice, on NW corner of Jackson, near shopping and restaurants. Baseball facilities are very nice. Had a friend's son go there his freshman year, they didn't have the best experience, but was probably more of an overall fit issue than anything else. Baseball was down that year, and he basically was a courtesy runner. That was also the year a tornado hit campus and damaged some of the residence halls. It just wasn't a good year.
My son went to Lambuth in Jackson one year, and really liked the Jackson area. He wound up in Nashville. He really likes the mid and western part of TN. It would be worth looking into.
