University of Illinois Chicago, that plays in Horizon league?

I am not affiliated with the UChicago admissions office and do not have any inside information. But, according to the chart linked below, a 30 ACT would place the applicant in the lower quartile...maybe closer to the bottom eighth of applicants.

Of course, ACT is just one aspect of an application.

From personal experience the UChicago coaches are very honest about how much influence they have with Admissions, and I think you will find that their influence is comparatively modest compared with Ivies, certainly, and most other D3s.

I'll second green lights observation. A 30 ACT is good enough for an Ivy baseball player, but much more iffy to a comparable academic D3. The Ivies make you clear a certain pretty well defined bar, while those comparable d3s are much more opaque.

No, University of Chicago, which is a D3 (I think independent).

When former coach was recruiting my son who had a 33 ACT (he went elsewhere), he was told that he thought he had a decent shot and they would go to bat for him, but admissions makes decisions.  the sense that I got was that there was less influence than a NESCAC coach could have.
