Coach Maloney has been there 8 years and has had 45 players drafted 50 times over that time span.

We look primarily at pitching development. Their pitching coach Matt White is entering his first season after three years as a volunteer coach at Georgia Tech. Whether he is capable of developing draft-able pitchers I don’t know. The team carries 19 pitchers, of which 14 had pitched over the first 15 games. 3 Freshmen pitched 4.1, 3.2, and 8.2 innings over those first 15 games. Two Freshmen had not pitched at that point. In general, Freshmen that pitch, pitch between 2.4% to 6% of the time. Go in and take a look at the resumes of the five freshmen pitchers, if you’re a pitcher.

They were 3-12 on the 15 games. If you want to look up the strength of their opponents, go to the website.

On College Board the class entering had SAT Math ranges of 640-740 and English ranges of 590-700. In-state tuition costs of $12.4 K and out-of-state of $36.2 K.

In the past, they have attended the Stanford All Star. In the summer Coach Maloney runs University of Michigan Baseball Camps. The run a couple of camps July 10-13 and July 17-20 that might provide a better feel.
As a Michigan alumn living in Texas I wonder why the UM baseball program struggles so much. My son is starting the process of looking but has not put them on the radar -- even though he is a huge UM football fan -- because of their latest record. It is surprising as all the top academic schools in this area have great baseball programs.
