If you are considering UOP, I would make a visit.
The Campus is nice. Over the years, it has been used for a number of movie sets because of its East Coast/Ivy league type appearance.
Weather..hot during the late Spring/Summer and early Fall. Real hot. Winter..as CADad describes, they can get some intense ground fog that sits right on the ground..for several days at a time.
I fully agree the new Klein Family Field is a gem, a real beauty.
UOP is certainly in the nicest area of Stockton. Unfortunately, Stockton has been hit about as hard as any community with foreclosures. I think it is classified right near the top of impacted communities. There are some areas of the Community some distance from Campus that are places you just don't frequent. The new downtown Milb park of the Ports is a beauty, a real beauty.
Academically, as a UOP graduate, I do gulp a bit when I see it now costs nearly $55,000 to attend, according to what I receive from the school.
The degree is respected in the Central Valley, the academics are very solid, but the degree probably is not as valued when one gets outside the Valley to the Bay Area and other places.
Because of the tuition and other factors, UOP can be a tough sell for baseball.
Even with 50% money, a family is looking at close to $27,000 per year out of pocket, which is more than a UC or State school.
They play in the Big West and are struggling against the stronger programs. I really think the 11.7, 25% minimum and escalating tuition/board costs are hindering the baseball progress.
But most every game I have seen, they seem to play hard and are well coached. Coach Sprague is well respected.
Funny story...when I attended there was a "blond" who enrolled from Wisconsin without a visit. Because of the name, she thought the school was "on the Pacific."
She was not happy when she found it was about 90 miles to the Pacific...through the Delta.
