Congrats to these women- they played great and were interesting to watch. It's amazing how different softball is from baseball. One thing that I noticed was how high the batting averages were for many of the players. Seems like they should move the fences back????

Also, why does the NCAA allow the women to gather at the plate after a home run. Seems like the guys had a new rule this year that didn't allow it!

Now, will we see as much college baseball the next few weeks as we saw of the women? Hope so.

You wanna' see some impressive numbers CaBB?

Wait 'til they move the fences from just outside the base paths to inside the base paths...

...then you'll see those BA's soar outta' sight!

Wow!

Shortstop Mom;

great to hear from you.

Several years ago in Chico California I observed a tryout for the girls 16 year old softball teams interested in our tours to China and Australia.

During a "time out" during the tryout, each girl remove a water bottle from her "back pack".

Suddenly, I stopped the "time out" and mentioned to the girls how they were more mature than the boys of the same age.

The boys would receive water or gatorade from their parents handed through the fence.

WHY?

Do the pro scouts watch this behavior pattern?
