I heard once that some pitchers use a football to warm up their arms before practice and games. Anyone else heard of this before????

5.0 ounce baseball weighs 1/3 as much as a football and the throwing motion is different as can be. Do you throw the football from a mound? Does the bull pen catcher wear a special mitt?
Our pitchers throw javelins prior to a big game. Doesn't do them a lot of good, but it sure keeps the catchers on their toes.
I've seen it. I don't pitch but a friend of mine likes to throw around the pigskin before games. --Says it helps him with his curveball.
