Did you see thee play 2 day ago on TV in the playoffs where the catcher tagged out the runner at home as the runner behind him was rounding 3rd? Catcher just held the ball momentarily then tagged out the 2nd runner as well. Very cool!

Seems like the fielder who made the one throw to the plate would get 2 assists -- one for each putout. Kind of unusual!

Just wonder if anyone here could dream up a situation where a player gets THREE assists on one throw. I don't have one in mind, but somebody might.

I was wondering if BOTH the RF and the 2B each get two assists? Or if the 2nd out is simply 2U (which would be technically incorrect)?

Scored simply as a double play 9-4-2. One assist each for the right fielder and second baseman. Two putouts for the catcher.
