My nephew went to Area code try outs in Houston a few weeks ago and did not make the team.... Needless to say he was pretty bummed. Oh well, chalk that one up and move on. So his team went to Atlanta and won a tourn. and he verbally committed to play at the U of Houston. He went to the TSA showcase this weekend and got asked to play on the TX Ranger's area code team and play in Long Beach in a couple of weeks.  So the pendulum has swung back to the positive side. Hope he has a good outing in CA to carry into his final HS season.

Congratulations to your nephew. Making the area code games is a great achievement.

I remember when my son tried out and didn't make the Yankees AC team. It was quite frankly the first time he had ever been cut from anything he tried out for. But it led to so many contacts and other opportunities from the college and pro scouts who had seen him. It just goes to prove you never know who is watching and what it will lead to.
