Upsets in the first round?

With the amount of talent on the Bedford Bull Dogs roster a 13 over 4 upset is possible in my opinion, I am going out on a limb and saying Bedford over Monadnock.

Another potential upset again a 13 over 4 is in Class L Concord over Nashua South. If Poulin brings his a game and Tommy Heath is hitting like I know he can this team can pull off this upset.

I'll take Central over North as a prediction. At least 2 other lower seeds will win....happens every year.

In NH baseball the top 4 seeds should get a 1st round bye, the other 12 should play double-elimination to get the field down to 8. Hope they change this some time soon.

Can Trinity pitch their way to the title?
Will Keene hit their way to the title?
Will Londonderry cruise to title with great balance?

Or, can South, Alvirne or Goffstown run the table with excellent coaching and guts? All 3 are ballsy clubs.

This tourney will be the most interesting in a while. All 6 of these team are very good.

Will O. its not said often on this site but great post. The points about Trinity, Keene and Londonderry right on I could not agree more. I am not very familar with South but I do know Alvirne and Goffstowns coaching is very solid and I have been following all three this year and each presents a real threat to win the whole thing.

Will I agree with the first round bye for the top four seeds. Where is the reward for a great season?

I'm going to agree with Concord over Nashua South as my pick for an upset.

What about the Spaulding 15 vs. Londonderry 2 rematch from last Friday? That was a 3-0 win for the Lancers could a second crack at them go Spauldings way?

There were two upsets yesterday as #4 seed Elm Street (Nashua) knocked off #1 seeded Bedford and #3 seeded Timberlane knocked off #2 seeded Londonderry.

On Londonderry vs. Spaulding, I know that Coach Demas will drive home the point to his players that an upset is possible and that they can not take for granted a victory. With the seniors on that team, this team is ready for the post season run, being lead by Neverman this team is the team to beat this year.

I think that there will be some very close games tomorrow.....of all the games to have an upset I think Central can do it with Cole Warren throwing for them. I have seen Cole pitch four times this year and each time he has showed his dominance on the mound showing his live fastball and strong slider. I think that there are going to be some very close games regardless of seedings because many teams have that #1 guy who can shut down opposing teams.

Does anyone know if the Nashua teams are playing at Holman tomorrow?

Pinkerton over Trinity? Anyone think it is possible?

I am really looking forward to tomorrow, I think the State of NH is in for a great post season this year, I suggest everyone make an effort to make these games.

I am looking forward to these games tomorrow I think that a majority of the will be very competitive. Never say Never for the Astros who have two strong starters in Bell and Calvetti but I think whether it's Dylan Clark or Garret Cole throwing it will be too much for the Astro hitters.

I am intrigued by Nashua South and Concord....as mentioned above if Poulin is on he is very capable of shutting down any team.

I think I am going to head out to Salem vs. Timberland myself, hope to get Nick Poore on the gun and see how he is throwing.

Both Nashua games are at 4pm and I believe that they are both at their home fields at the respective schools.

Trinity won 8-1. Clark was on. Had a no-no until the 7th. Pinkerton kids played hard as usual and kept it tight for 5 innings.

Will, I got a text from a friend at that game who said down 8-0 Pinkerton squeezed in that one run. Is that accurate? I just assumed they were pulling my leg.

Not really. Down 8-0 Pinkerton wraps a Triple and breaks up the no-no. With 1 out they basically Sac bunted to the Pitcher. Trinity took the out at first. Now...2 outs and down 8-1. I guess the coach felt it more important to break the shut-out rather than keep a rally going. One of the more odd things I've seen in tournament ball at any level.

The Pinkerton kids made some nice plays in the field.

I understand that Franklin and Winnisquam won their games by comfortable margins today. Anyone know how Campbell faired?

That sounds closer to ridiculous than odd honestly. But what do I know I'm just a fan I've never coached in a varsity playoff game.

No, not a different game.... Same thing happened earlier in game. My recollection is the score was 1-0 or 3-0 at the time. Clark was on so they were trying to prob. get something going, somehow.
