U.S. National Team

Way to go boys! Both have made us all proud.

Once Roger is finished with college and is drafted, I see him on a fast track to the big leagues. This kid is a special talent that doesn't come along very often.

I am still perplexed as to why he was not drafted last year and already playing somewhere in the minors right now.

Haven't seen PC play before, but I know he had a great HS career and is doing well at UT.

I wish them both continued success.

Good job guys. Two former Dallas Tigers on the U.S. National Team (Roger and Preston) and two Dallas Tigers and one former Dallas Tiger (Morris, Walsh & Cain) on the Junior National Team...not bad Tigers!

ballboy -- excellent accomplishments for the current and former Tigers --- but the young pups are only trying out for the Youth National Team --- not the Junior NT --- and the tryouts are in the future. None of the three have made the team....yet. I wish all the boys well in these exciting endeavors.

PD, you are right, I stand corrected. However, with only 36 players selected out of about 2800 who tried out, still quite an accomplishment, don't you think? Or can you give these young pups any credit?

For those interested in the World Championship National Tournament in Cuba, Jake Arrieta (PESH,TCU) pitched and got the win last night over the Chech Republic. Roger Kieschnick (Rockwall,Texas Tech) as well as Preston Clark (Rockwall,Texas) both had a great game as well.

FYI -- To any parent "wondering" if they should stay with a select team when their player is in the 9 hole spot and/or sometimes sitting bench during tourneys (to accommodate those great guest players), Roger Kieschnick is a PRIME example of persistence!! For 3 seasons (appx. age 11 to 14), Rog was "on the bubble". (Hard to believe, I know.) However, when you have a kid with an AMAZING ATTITUDE, FABULOUS FAMILY, TERRIFIC TEAMMATES, PATIENCE, PASSION, & PERSERVERANCE look what can happen.

I love this kid ..... and his mom & dad!

I was fortunate enough to get to know Roger this past winter at Frozen Ropes in Rockwall. Roger was there EVERY day during Christmas break working on his hitting. I was amazed at his work ethic and more amazed at his left handed swing. He could literally hit an entire bucket of balls and never hit the sides of the tunnel. Every ball would be right up the middle. I was in awe. His bat speed is tremendous. He is a tremendous person as well.....yes sir, no sir all the time. This kid is one in a million! A great smile too I might add!! Way to go Roger, congratulations on a great summer.
