USA 16U Palm Beach Scheduling????

I would reserve judgement until after tournament. I have had plenty of my son's old teammates go to play in this tournament and barring weather issues they had nothing but great things to say. (we have never actually been)

There will be a minimum of 6 other games.

That tournament has a good reputation amongst Florida players.

I'm sorry, but one "travels" to broaden one's experience....see new pitching, face new teams, etc. There is absolutely no reason why they should have to go to Florida to play each other and there is even less reason why the organizers would schedule it this way.

It gets worse!!! I just checked the other 2 pool games. USA baseball has the two teams from our State playing each other twice. 2 of the possible 7 games are against the same old boys we play each and every month and have for years.

Guess its about about the $$ for USA Baseball.

Stop the bitching and get them to revise the schedule

This post got me curious so I looked at the schedule. I see the teams from Colorado (teams 62 & 63)play each other saturday, monday and thursday. That is unusual scheduling.

Give them a call and see what they say.

I've sent an email to the coaches of both teams. My point was this is a "professional tournament director" who should know better.

I'll ask the coaches to give them a call. It would seem to go against what USA says about the poll brackets in their tournament flyer:

Which states that "if 18 teams from CA sign up they will be placed in 18 different pools.

Hopefully its just a "burp"

Hold the phone. They have not assigned teams to team numbers yet. The listing you are looking at does not indicate the game schedule until they assign teams to team numbers. I spoke to them yesterday.

The two alphabetical team lists have different numbers. Wasn't my business anyway but Oops!!

You notice they took the numbers down today? They probably got tired of answering emails and phone calls.

Yep.....also noted they don't yet have a schedule posted less than a week prior to the start. If one's using this time as something of a family vacation (they only play one game per day) it makes it hard to schedule Tee times or book a fishing trip...... Heck...if I booked before the schedule came out I might have to go to a game risking being an "ugly parent'!

Perhaps the first post of this thread should have an addition made to it so that a future forum browser doesn't get the wrong idea about the tournament when reading the post. I'd hate for a simple mistake on the part of this poster to hurt someone's reputation.

Its not a simple mistake......the schedule is not out less than a week before the teams show up. This in a double pool tournament.....heck....don't even know when the opening show is.

I'man easy going guy and asked HERE about opinions regarding this USA tournament. In my humble opinion the organizers are not very concerned about anyone's planning save their own......and it may be all about the $$. Right now I'm suspect.

There are many other "high level tournaments" on equally good fields, at less cost, than this one.

Frankly....I'm **** disappointed thus far and will have to wait until next week to give you the full story....but the admin does not bode well.

I feel it important that I give my personal opinion to those that join this site....unabassed....straight from the horses mouth. You are welcome to provide yours.

The event starts on a Saturday morning correct?
And you are coming from Colrado correct? What did you expect to do? Arrive Saturday morning?

You are either very naive, inexperienced regarding events like this or both!!!



Let me tell you this, and I run a 14 team tournament every year and we never have problems--in fact when the teams register if they have any special conditions they make us aware of them.

We go to many events including Jupiter and in most cases we do not know the schedule until 4 or 5 days before the event--BUT-- we always get in the night before and our hotel arrangements are made way in advance

Wait until it rains here in the afternoons and everything changes, you are gonna love that.
USA puts on a great tournament.

Of course I've made my travel plans. But I'm turned loose in South Fla while the kid stays and travels with the team for the tournament....He's the excuse. I'm being totally selfish here but have a bunch of former College Ball Team Mates that are doing a East Coast 30th reunion in WPB as I can't make the fall reunion.......**** I need to know the schedule. Either way....its going to be FUN.

Oh yeah...hope the kid does well....smile....he's in his own.
