Just got word that Chris Lubanski has been named to the USA BAseball Board of Directors

He joins Mark Prior and Huston Street as the three baseball representatives on the board

Chris is with the KC Royals and currently ranked as the 4th best prospect in their system

As PG can attest to this young man is one of the finest young men I have met--- He deserves all the accolades that he gets.

Way to go Chris !!!!!

We have had the pleasure of knowing Chris and his family for several years. His dad Wally has posted on this site before. Of the thousands of young players we’ve seen, Chris stands out as one of the very best people we’ve ever met. And we’ve met many outstanding young players who are also great young men.

When we first saw him as a skinny 9th grader he had one obvious tool. (He could really run). But, he was a poster boy for projection and we followed him closely. His work ethic, championship makeup, character and athleticism were off the charts. We saw him many times as he matured and each time he was better than the time before.

Chris is a great role model, coming into baseball at just the right time. It might seem odd that USA Baseball would name him to this position at such a young age, but it’s absolutely no surprise to us. This world needs as many Lubanski’s as it can lay it’s hands on. And there is another one coming!
Dear Tom, Jerry, and other baseball friends...

Thanks as always for your thoughful and generous remarks. Chris is currently in Arizona working out at Athletes Performance on the ASU campus in preparation for spring training.

The USA Baseball people, as you know, are some of the finest folks in baseball. Chris' selection to the Board of Directors is a tremendous honor, one that we find nearly hard to describe. The opportunities that USA Baseball gave him, and what Chris did to take advantage of those moments while he wore a Team USA uniform, truly reflect part of USA Baseball's mission...find and develop talent no matter where the player hails from. Remember too, Chris did not make the first YNT squad (2000) that he was invited to tryout for, but took that initial opportunity and built on it, coming back with the program over the next two summers. USA Baseball coaches gave him some important feedback on what he needed to do to reach his potential, he took their advice to heart, and the program kept the door open.

USA Baseball coaches and directors Ray Darwin, Eric Campbell, Tim Saunders, Chris Brown, and Edgar Soto were very special mentors to Chris as he developed and matured in the program. And Chris had the great benefit of playing with some of baseball's best talent including Delmon Young, Chad Billingsley, Lastings Milledge, Jeff Allison, Ian Stewart, and Jarrod Saltalmacchia to name just a few.

Tom...our sincere appreciation for your insights and guidance over the years, you have always been one of Chris' biggest fans, and a true friend to many players and their families here in the Northeast!

Jerry...well, if it wasn't for you and everyone at Perfect Game, Chris wouldn't be where he is today. We've been blessed to have had many friends and supporters in this process, people who have gone out of their way to help Chris and our family. But, Perfect Game has been in the front seat of the Chris Lubanski bandwagon since the beginning, and you've never steered us wrong. I know folks see the splendid work that PG does with showcases and tournaments, but not many may realize the tremendous amount of time you put in behind-the-scenes for players, and Chris was a huge beneficiary of that effort. Simply, you guys are the best!

With two more younger boys playing ball, especially one that is not too far from being in the showcase circuit, we have plenty of baseball still ahead of us, not to mention following Chris' journey to the big leagues!

Wally
