Congrats to the schools in the poll as they've earned it. However, one has to take these polls with a grain of salt as some teams match up well in the tournaments and others match up better in league and playoffs.

I glanced at the regional rankings and a team that had earned a high ranking with a big tournament win is only ranked 9th in the 3rd strongest division in our section by the coaches. They're clearly the second best team in their league so far but the best team doesn't show up in the regional rankings because they didn't play one of the nationally noticed tournaments.

We played Owasso, OK and I will say they definitely DESERVE to be ranked. They were good. Pitcher was 6'8" lefty. He had 15 strike-outs against us and we are a pretty decent team. They were impressive at the plate as well.

Not that our team is anywhere close to being ranked, but I agree with CADad as our team doesn't ever look that great in Tournaments. We don't have the depth at pitching as some of these schools and so we rarely pitch our top 3 pitchers in tournaments - save them for league. Most of our losses have come in tourneys where we play our 6-8 spot pitchers and sub several starters to give other kids play time. Even against Owasso we didn't put in our best pitchers - wouldn't of mattered though, lol.

Congrats to all these teams (even the ones not in Texas) for a great accomplishment. I think to make these lists you certainly have to play as a team with everyone contributing and playing well. Enjoy it!
my team played the 16th ranked creighton prep last weekend. they're a very good team and deserve to be ranked. they pitched 3 guys who were consistently around mid 80's with pretty good offspeed.

I started on the mound for us, which is odd because that was my 1st game starting pitching all season (I'm the shortstop so I barely ever pitch). Gave up 3 runs in 3 innings, which is decent at best, moved back to SS right after. I had a pretty good RBI at the plate in the 6th though.
