Rough business.. Texas baseball assistant Tommy Harmon, the longest-tenured coach on any of the Longhorns’ major sports teams, has been dismissed by UT after 23 seasons... I would have guessed longer... Former UT player..

UT didn't make NCAA tourney.. Mack Brown had to get rid of OC/friend Greg Davis.. Augie not that close to Tommy, but an embarrassment to have to replace loyal/hardworking staff like this

The school announced Wednesday it will not renew the annual contract of Harmon, 63, who served under both Cliff Gustafson and current coach Augie Garrido. With Harmon on the staff, the Longhorns made the College World Series 10 times, winning it twice

The Austin American Statesman ran a column earlier this week citing Harmon's "nagging" and "nit-picking" as a negative style and by Saturday the paper's Sports Section had several letters to the editors disagreeing with that portrayl and in support of Harmon... including a letter from a Hutson Street of San Diego... Good for the players to support Harmon and good for the Statesman to run them
