It will either be Skip Johnson from Navarro or Ted Silva from Cal St Fullerton. He is a former player of Augie's from in the 90's

Skip Johnson will be named the new pitching coach at The University of Texas tomorrow. Just in case anyone wanted to know.

Congratulations to Coach Johnson. I worked with him once at a pitching camp in McKinney for Denny Dixon at his Triple Crown Academy. I could tell the guy knew what he was talking about. He's done a great job at Navarro for many years.

Congrats to Skip and his family....I personally hope they give Whoa a chance, he would provide a little seamless transition, and have the opportunity to make the team his own.

Has the situation changed or is Skip still the frontrunner?

There are going to be some surprised horn fans...on the hornfan.com baseball message board several fans seem to think Silva is in and Johnson is a long shot. I hope he does a great job and proves them wrong! It just goes to show you...what do the fans know anyway.

Frequent Observer - I hear Ken Kasparek had to have Tommy John surgery after an injury pitching for the TCL McKinney Marshal's.

That is a tough loss for the Marshal's and Longhorns, hope he will be back in due time....I know that even a sand aggie can sympathize with an injury like that.

As son is a navarro signee is there anything we should be doing in light of recent developments? what is the protocol in this situation?

Call Skip and ask him when they will make an announcement on new head coach.

If that doesn't work, try the Athletic Director.

From there, you can talk to the new Head Coach, see where you stand, and make a decision.

Either move forward with new coach, or ask for release.

It is official...Skip accepted on Monday.
